V lednu 2007 VDL Bus Danmark A/S dostala dúležitou zakázku na 17 busů VDL Berkhof Ambassador ALE 120-225. Autobusy budou provozovány dopravcem De Hvide Busser A/S. Ten uzavřel kontrakt s největším provozovatelem veřejné dopravy v Dánsku MOVIA. MOVIA má více než 1600 autobusů ve smlouvě s různými dopravci v regionech velké Kodaně, Zealandu a Lolland-Falsteru.

S Ambassadorem se v Dánsku objevuje vozidlo o 2500 kg lehčí než běžné 12m autobusy v regionu pokrytém společností MOVIA. Při stejné kapacitě cestujících se jedná o 15 - 20 % úsporu paliva. Nižší váha znamená také nižší zátěž pro dánské silnice. Ambassador má kapacitu 72 cestujících (36 + 36) a je přístupný pro vozíčkáře.

VDL Bus Danmark receives order for 17 Ambassadors

In January 2007 VDL Bus Danmark A/S received an important order for 17 VDL Berkhof Ambassador buses of the type ALE 120-225. These buses will be operated by De Hvide Busser A/S. This operator has been awarded a contract with MOVIA, the biggest public transport authority in Denmark. MOVIA has more than 1600 buses in contract with various operators in the regions Greater Copenhagen, Zealand and Lolland-Falster.

The Ambassador bus type is new in Denmark as it is 2500 kg lighter than the normal 12 metre city andregional buses used in the MOVIA area today and this means that, with the same passenger capacity, it uses 15 up to 20% less fuel. The reduced weight also means less wear and tear on the Danish streets and roads.

The Ambassador has room for 72 passengers. There are 36 seating places and 36 standing places. All vehicles are accessible for wheelchair users.

In co-operation with MOVIA, this bus type has been thoroughly tested in Northern Zealand and Roskilde as well as in the suburbs of Copenhagen during a 4-month period from December 2005 to April 2006. The buses will be put into operation on 20 October 2007 and will be operating as city and regional buses in Helsingore and on other lines in Northern Zealand.

VDL Bus Danmark exhibits the Ambassador ALE 120-225 at the HI 2007 Transport Exhibition in Herning on 29, 30 and 31 March and 1 April.
