Již 27 let organizuje skupina fanoušků setkání historických autobusů ve Winchesteru jako memoriál bývalého regionálního dopravce King Alfred Buses.
Letos se akce uskutečnila o den později, 2.1.2011 od 9 hodin ráno do večera za účasti nejen autobusů King Alfred. Přestavba centra Winchesteru znamená bohužel konec známého autobusového nádraží i depa s kolekcí autobusů King Alfred.
(Král Alfred vládl Wesexu a Jižní Anglii v letech 871 - 899 a je to do dneška jediný anglický monarcha s titulem ''Great'' (Veliký))

Bedford OB 29 seater with petrol/benzin engine. It was built in 1949 and is owned and still operated commercially by Mervyn's Coaches - 62 years old and still going well, attribute to the Bedford marque.

This Leyland PD2 with East Lancashire double deck body was new to King Alfred and after been withdrawn from service was exported to the USA. The Friernds of King Alkfred Group eventually rescued it and brought it home to Winchester. Seen here in The Broadway with King Alfreds statue in the background.
