Ve čtvrtek 18.9.2008 byl oficielně předán plánovaný autobus Volvo-VDL Jonckheere během slavnostního předání vlámské dopravní společnosti Vlaamse Vervoermaatschappij De Lijn.
Všech plánovaných 500 autobusů je typu Jonckheere Transit na podvozku Volvo a vyráběný v různých délkách a specifikacích. První Transit pro De Lijn byl dodán v roce 2000.
The Transit
All 500 scheduled service buses are the Transit type built on a Volvo chassis and produced in various lengths and to various specifications which meet the desires of the customer in full. The first Transit for De Lijn was delivered in 2000. With the delivery of the 500th scheduled service bus it can rightfully be said that the co-operation between VDL Jonckheere and Volvo is more than successful. VDL Jonckheere is distinguished by a professional, customer-oriented after sales service in combination with extensive quality control. De Lijn is the commercial name for the Vlaamse Vervoermaatschappij, the Flemish Transport Company, which is an autonomous government company for city and regional transport in Flanders making use of buses and trams. De Lijn aims for high quality, customer-oriented public transportation. Much attention is paid to punctual, relaible and rapid service provision with satisfactory capacity, frequency and safety. A total of about 10,000 people are employed. About 7,500 of these work for V.V.M. De Lijn. The other 2,500 work for bus companies which run on behalf of V.V.M.
