V pátek 25. září se před zemským sněmem v Porýní-Falcku ve městě Mainz konal neobvyklý pokus o rekord. Zástupci společnosti Centre of Ambulance Services of the Government of Dubai, kteří v rámci akce autobus slavnostně přebrali, četní zvědavci a mnoho zástupců médií – ti všichni byli při tom, když členové poroty Guinessovy knihy, ministr vnitra Porýní-Falcka Karl-Peter Bruch a prezident zemského sněmu Porýní-Falcka Joachim Mertes, Citaro změřili a zodpovědně stanovili jeho kapacitu obsaditelnosti. Rekord bude v knize registrován pod jmény společností, které autobus navrhly, zkonstruovaly a vybavily: Von Bergh Global Medical Consulting, Gebr. Heymann GmbH, Cytomed Middle East a EvoBus GmbH. Zdravotníci Německého Červeného kříže (DRK), johanitů a Samaritánského svazu dobrovolných zdravotníků (ASB) simulovali vážný případ, tzv. incident velkého rozsahu, při kterém muselo být současně medicínsky ošetřeno množství zraněných osob. Při tom bylo zjištěno, že velkoprostorová sanitka nabízí kapacitu pro ošetření a transport až 123 osobám. Varianta kloubového autobusu, se kterou proběhl pokus o rekord, má včetně zásobovacího zavazadlového prostoru celkovou délku 20,03 metru a je třetím velkoprostorovým záchranným vozidlem Mercedes-Benz, které se dodává do Dubaje. Jako velkoprostorové sanitky budou v Dubaji nasazeny dva autobusy s délkou 12 m a jeden kloubový autobus s délkou 18 m. Varianta autobusu A je jednotkou intenzivní zdravotnické péče, varianta B je pro masovou péči a transport středně a lehce zraněných obětí nehod, varianta autobusu C je kombinací obou předchozích vozidel. Objednány byly tři záchranné autobusy Mercedes-Benz, aby bylo možné rychle poskytnout zdravotnickou pomoc při takzvaných neštěstích velkého rozsahu, jako jsou nehody a katastrofy s mnoha zraněnými. Šance na přežití u těžce raněných v neposlední řadě závisí na rychlém poskytnutí první pomoci. Zatímco v běžné sanitce s dvoučlennou posádkou lze ošetřit jednoho pacienta, ve velkoprostorové sanitce Mercedes-Benz je možné ošetření až 20 osob prostřednictvím čtyř členů zdravotního odborného personálu. Vozidla byla zhotovena od specialistů na přestavby a nástavby společnosti Gebrüder Heymann GmbH, podle konceptu a designu mezinárodní výzkumné a poradenské firmy „Von Bergh Global Medical Consulting“, která byla rovněž odpovědná za projektový management. Zápisem do Guinessovy knihy rekordů pokračuje úspěšný příběh autobusu Mercedes-Benz Citaro. Dne 8. září bylo předáno celkově 25000. Citaro zákazníkovi „infra fürth verkehr gmbH“. TZ Daimler Citaro enters Guinness Book of Records: The world's largest ambulance goes to Dubai With the capacity to treat and carry up to 123 people, and an overall length of 20.03 metres, the world's largest ambulance – a large-capacity emergency ambulance based on the Mercedes-Benz Citaro articulated bus – has entered the Guinness Book of Records. On Friday, 25 September 2009, an extraordinary record attempt took place in front of the Rhineland-Palatinate Federal State Parliament building in Mainz, Germany. Representatives from the Centre of Ambulance Services of the Government of Dubai, present at the event for the official hand-over of the bus, along with countless onlookers and a large media contingent, were in attendance as the official Guinness Book judges, the Rhineland-Palatinate Interior Minister Karl Peter Bruch and the President of the Rhineland-Palatinate Federal State Parliament Joachim Mertes took the measurements to determine the precise carrying capacity of the Citaro. The entry in the Guinness Book of records is attributed to the companies which designed, built and equipped the bus: Von Bergh Global Medical Consulting, Gebr. Heymann GmbH, Cytomed Middle East and EvoBus GmbH. Aid workers from the German Red Cross, the St. John's Ambulance organisation and the Samaritans simulated a major incident in which numerous accident victims received medical treatment simultaneously. This simulation revealed that the large-capacity emergency ambulance is capable of treating and transporting up to 123 people. The variant of the articulated bus which broke the world record has an overall length of 20.03 metres (including a rear-mounted medical-supplies box) and is the third Mercedes-Benz large-capacity emergency ambulance to be delivered to Dubai. Two standard buses measuring 12 metres in length and one articulated bus measuring 18 metres in length are used as large-capacity emergency ambulances in Dubai. Bus variant A is designed as a mobile intensive-care unit, while variant B features equipment for the large-scale treatment and transport of medium to slightly injured accident victims. Bus variant C is a combination of variants A and B. The three Mercedes-Benz clinic buses were ordered so that rapid medical assistance can be provided in the event of major incidents, i.e. accidents or disasters involving large numbers of injury victims. After all, the survival chances of very seriously injured people depend largely on them receiving rapid first-aid treatment. While a two-man crew is normally only able to care for one patient in an ambulance, up to 20 patients can receive care from four medical specialists in the Mercedes-Benz large-capacity emergency ambulance. The vehicles were produced by conversion specialist Gebrüder Heymann GmbH, based on the concept and design provided by international research and consultancy company Von Bergh Global Medical Consulting, which was also responsible for project management. The entry in the Guinness Book of Records is the latest chapter in the Mercedes Benz Citaro success story. Stuttgart – Daimler Trucks a Kamaz zaznamenali pokrok při realizaci společných projektů. Základem pro to je strategické partnerství, do kterého Daimler Trucks vstoupil v prosinci 2008 s firmami Kamaz, Russian Technologies a Investmentbank Troika Dialog. V této souvislosti převzal Daimler 10 % společnosti Kamaz. Společnost Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) a ruský výrobce nákladních vozidel Kamaz podepsali již 7. července 2009 ohlášení záměru o založení Joint Ventures pro import, výrobu a prodej nákladních vozidel Fuso v Rusku. Uzavření smlouvy o Joint Venture je naplánováno na konec letošního října. Kromě toho dne 1.10.2009 podepsal ohlášení záměru o založení Joint Ventures Mercedes-Benz Lkw a Kamaz. Cílem je s Kamazem společná výroba nákladních vozidel Mercedes-Benz a prodej nákladních vozidel Mercedes-Benz a autobusů Mercedes-Benz a Setra. Mercedes-Benz Lkw a Kamaz podepsali Letter of Intent o založení Joint Ventures Pro posílení pozice na trhu Mercedes-Benz Lkw v Rusku plánuje budoucí „Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok“ v krátké době v Rusku vybudovat výrobu nákladních vozidel Mercedes-Benz a společně prostřednictvím Joint Venture se společností Kamaz prodávat nákladní vozidla Mercedes-Benz a autobusy Mercedes-Benz a Setra. Dealeři a servisní partneři Mercedes-Benz budou řízeni přes Joint Venture „Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok“ a obdrží tak nového smluvního partnera. Dodatečně má být v postupných krocích rozvinuta prodejní a servisní síť na bázi vybraných dealerů Kamaz. The trucks will be manufactured at the Kamaz factory in Naberezhnye Chelny, Russia, while the joint venture’s sales departments and management will be based in Kazan, Russia. In Russia, the joint venture company will initially manufacture and sell models of the light-duty Fuso Canter truck. The trucks assembled in Russia will steadily increase their local content of parts and components. “This agreement will allow us to combine the strengths of Kamaz and Fuso. Kamaz is the market leader in Russia, and Fuso is one of the leading commercial vehicle manufacturers in Asia. (tzv) 3. 10. 2009 proběhne ve stanici Chrudim, město oslava výročí 110 let chrudimských lokálek. Součástí oslav bude i možnost prohlídky zámku ve Slatiňanech, výstava železničních modelů a vypravení zvláštních vlaků. Kyvadlovou dopravu mezi stanicí Chrudim, město a zámkem ve Slatiňech budou zajišťovat autobusy Karosa ŠD11 a Karosa B732. Přeběžný jízdní řád může být změněn.
